'twas the night before school

... And we are running around like crazy!! Time to finish all the last minute things .. Getting Madison's box for her cubby ready with change of clothes and her name and picture, family pictures and labeling Madison's coats and shoes!
We had a good weekend to end our summer .. Saturday Chris worked so Madison and I ventured to the Bronx Zoo our favorite go to day trip spot! Madison was super surprised when Daddy decided to show up to visit at the zoo!!
We had a great zoo day.. After that we headed to a fun block party and then off to a bonfire at uncle pj and uncle Mikey's!
Sunday was spent looking at open houses! We are currently on the hunt for a new home for our expanding family. We thought we found "the one" but someone came in with all cash and we lost out! So back at it!!!

Anyways off to cook some dinner and then it's bath and bed for the big girl .. Only 1 month til she's 2:(. Where did my little girl go?

Big news!

Hey everyone!! Sorry for my long absence.. Been a little crazy here lately! Put our house on the market, trying to find a new one, getting Madison ready for preschool and a new baby coming!
Our due date for baby #2 is March 17th 2014 (Irish much??)   Figured I'd start blogging g again about this pregnancy!  So far it's been a little rough was pretty sick again at the start but feeling much better .. Now heading into the 2nd trimester I hope the feeling better trend continues!

How far along? 13 weeks
Have you started to show? Yes I've got a bump but some days I feel like it just looks like I've been eating to many donuts!
Total weight gain: up 3lbs (hopefully wont gain as much as I did with Madison!)
Maternity clothes? Shirts only .. I've got a little bump but pants still fit perfectly.
Stretch marks?  Just what's left over from Madison
Sleep: what is that?? I get on average 4hrs a night .. I can't seem to get comfortable!
Best moment this week: Madison kissing my belly before bed .. And Chris finally being able to make an appt and hear the baby heartbeat :) also took part in the color run 5k .. Didn't run the whole thing as I planned when I registered.. But we finished it and ran a good portion!
Miss Anything? Sleep .. But I'm starting to get more energy
Movement: at our 12 week ultrasound we saw the baby move but so far I've only felt a little flutter when laying on my stomach
Food cravings: banana cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory... Waiting for my bday to have some.  And French fries with ranch.
Anything making you queasy or sick: some chicken, the smell of coffee (which sucks!!)
Gender predictions: I'm thinking boy (so far this pregnancy has been a little diff then Madison) Chris thinks girl.

Labor Signs: Nope. Hopefully not for 188 days!
Symptoms: still some morning sickness and starting to feel some stretching!
Belly Button in or out? In .. Never popped with Madison.
Wedding rings on or off? on.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and moody ... Depends on my sleep!!
Looking forward to: feeling some kicks!!!

Thanks for stopping by check back soon! Xo

Spring has sprung

Here in New York its spring.. at least for the time being!
We've been enjoying the last days and spending LOTS of time outside. We recently purchased a bike seat for Madison! We settled on the iBert seat (in the front instead of back) after talking to a bunch of people and to the guys at our local bike store (Endless Trail BikeWorx .. if you live around Westchester you should check them out!).
We had the bike seat attached on wednesday and went for a little ride.. we put the seat on Chris' bike to start, since its been 2 summers since I have ridden my bike and I need to get more comfortable on it!
At first Madison wasn't to happy with the helmet BUT once she was in the seat she was ready to go!
Today, Chris got over time at work so it was a "mommy maddie day", we headed to the park, where Madison showed me her impressive big girl skills by going down the slide by herself! I am so proud of her, during fall last year she wouldn't go down unless someone was holding her.. its amazing how in a few months everything changes!

Little Diva

So happy

This picture of her is probably one of my new favorites there is something so peaceful about it!!
Anyways.. after the park we headed to Go Greenly for some yummy Frozen Yogurt!!! Madison has taken a liking to it.. she has the Simply Taro with Strawberries.. I opted for Wedding cake with strawberries and kiwi!!
So far this spring is great! We have lots of fun planned in the next little bit.. first of I am heading to Vegas for the Arbonne Training Conference, then we've got our annual trip to Rehobeth Beach Delaware, a trip to Canada for Brett's highschool graduation, a couple 5k races (maybe a 10k by the fall) And MAYBE a quick trip to Florida :)

March Madness

I've fallen off the blogging band wagon .. Time to jump back on!
First off Happy St Patricks day to everyone! We celebrated yesterday by going into the city for the NYC St Pats parade. It was a big day of firsts for our big girl .. First train ride, first cab ride, first time eating in the city! It was such a long 5 hours but Madison handled it like a pro! And as soon as we got home she took a nice long 2 hour nap! Everyone including our dog napped yesterday. Then it was off to dinner with a great group of friends and family ... We also found out Madison is going to have a new friend and birthday buddy come October!! Our good friends Mike and Carla are expecting their first baby! We couldn't be happier for them!
Alright so in the past few months Madison has gone from being a "baby" to a running toddler! She is even talking alot! Well it's more babble BUT she repeats it and gets upset if we don't understand her! Seems like she's going to be ready to start preschool in September!
Both Chris and I have been busy also , aside from chasing after Madison. Chris recently started working at "the rock" which is where the fire academy is... He is still working at his fire house in the Bronx , this is just an awesome over time Job with the FDNY. He loves it!! It gets to work with the flashover simulator .. Basically he lights fires all day!
As for me ... I've been working at the bar but have cut back my hours to spend more time with our little lady as the warmer weather comes! As side from that I've been working with a trainer and doing Pilates and running alot!!! I've decided to document my weight loss in another blog (guess I need to do that post too!) I will post the link to it on here :).
Today also happens to be Chris' twin brothers Tim and PJ's 27th birthday!! So we've got some celebrating to do later! Here are some pictures from the past few months!

Lovin' me some John and Sherry!

Yesterday was an AWESOME DAY!!
Got to spend some quality time with my little munchkin (who as I wrote this post is putting her doll into her toy oven..)  and then headed into the city with Chris's cousin Lindsay for a Mom's Night Out! Much needed night out!
We started the night out by stopping at Starbucks in SOHO, while we were peacefully enjoying a baby free coffee who should walk in but Bethenny Frankel and her daughter!
Now, If you live in to the NY area and don't know who that is your either 1. a guy or 2. been living under a rock. She is one of the original NY Housewives and is the creator of Skinny Girl Margarita and all the Skinny Girl things!
It was one of those awkward moments, as she was standing less then 5 feet away from us and smiled right at us, we took a moment to consider asking her for a pic, we also considered just snapping a picture but we didn't. She was so normal and just was going out for some hot chocolate with her daughter! Who by the way is super super cute!
Everyone left them alone and just let them be a normal mom and daughter. The small town girl inside of me was screaming "get a picture get a picture" but the new NY part of me was saying "she is just a person" and the mom inside of me was yelling "Don't you dare bother her while she is spending time with her daughter!"
So we just kept going with our plans.. we walked around SOHO for alittle bit and then went to our appointment at Dry Bar and got our hair blown out!!
After that is was off to the main event!!
YOUNG HOUSE LOVE  book signing at Flor!!!!
If you know me in person I have probably talked about this blog and my love for it!! John and Sherry have completely redone 2 homes and they blog about all the crafty DIY things they have done! Some amazing ideas!! When their book came out I ordered it and have been waiting for the book signing since OCTOBER!
So close!!!!!
Finally.. go to the meet my DIY idols!!! Chris thinks I am such a nerd for being so excited for this ..but thats ok.. I was in DIY nerd heaven last night!

Thank you so much John and Sherry for signing my book! You guys are amazing! Can't wait to crack it open again and start some more projects.. first off painting my dresser and bedside tables :)

Now if only Bower Power and I Heart Organizing would come out with books.. then the Trifecta of Awesome blogs would be complete :)
