Appreciating 2014.

I've decided I am going to appreciate everything I have been blessed :). I already appreciate everything BUT I'm going to take notice of the little things and appreciate them!
I'm going to appreciate my husband more and the fact that he works so hard so that we can have a nice house, food, a car and clothes, but also so that I can spend more time home with Madison and when the time comes our other little one :) I'm going to make sure he knows we appreciate all we do by letting him sleep a little later after a rough shift, by not nagging him to get something down after he just finished working 24hrs and just wants to sit.
I plan to appreciate all the little moments I get with my children, spend more time reading to them instead of rushing them off to bed. Take more time on Sunday mornings to cook waffles, bake cookies when Madison asks, hold hands when they want to hold hands and never be the first to let go in a hug. Kids are only kids for so long there will come a day that holding my hand is embarrassing, or hugging their mom is annoying and they will want to bake things for themselves.
I will appreciate the messes because from those messes came some pretty awesome memories.

I will make 2014 count by being the best, most supportive, appreciative wife and mother that I can be. I will make everyday special for everyone in my family.

"Happy new you"

We've been trying to teach Madison how to say "happy new year" but all we seem to get is "happy new you". She is a little to young to understand the irony in that! So it doesn't matter if your celebrating a new year or kicking off a new you we wish you a happy one!

Our New Years was very low key and we like it that way. As usual Chris worked and is working again today so we spent yesterday with good friends watching the world jr hockey Canada vs USA game and Canada won!!! Wooooooo. I have bragging rights until next world jr tournament! Sorry Chris! After the game Chris headed off to work but left some of the meal for all the guys at night .. So Madison and I jumped in the car and being the nice daughter and wife we are drove them down to him. Hope dinner was good guys :)

Madison and I then had a quiet dinner at home and headed over to Chris parents to visit for abit, then to Madison's god mothers house! We got to visit with one of Chris' Canadian cousins Michelle, and Madison had a great time playing with Logan (Chris cousin Kaleen's son). Madison is 2 months older then him so they got along great! As we were driving home Madison told me "I like Logan".

She must have loved playing with him because it tired her out, Madison was asleep within 15min of getting home at 9pm. She slept right through the new year celebration! I was sleeping until I heard fireworks so I was able to text Chris just after midnight to wish him a happy new year!

We are all looking forward to the amazing things this year has in store for our growing family, and we can't wait to share all the experiences with all of you on here! We will keep you updated on all the changes in our new house, Madison's milestones as she becomes a big sister and starts camp for the first time this coming summer, Chris 30th birthday :), and of course the birth and growth of our 2nd little that I can now say is coming this year!!!!

I resolve...

To have NO resolutions!
I have always made New Years resolutions and I have always let myself down by breaking them! So last year I decided to make no resolutions and it worked out for me!
Of course the usual get in shape, save more money etc come to mind but shouldn't you be doing that all the time? Last year I kicked started 2013 by setting goals instead of resolutions. One of them was get in shape. I was doing it! I was feeling good, I was down 15lbs, I was healthy and happy and then ... I got pregnant. So a few of my goals had to change. Instead of running my first 5k it changed to finishing my 5k even if it meant walking.  Goal completed at 13 weeks pregnant :)

So this year I decided to share my goals..
1. Have a healthy and easy delivery of our new baby in a few weeks.
2. Spend more time doing crafts with Madison and not stressing about the mess.
3. Spend more time with Chris doing things we enjoy.. Hockey games, running, biking etc.
4. Continue to enjoy my job at Elmwood
5. Be a supportive wife and mother
6. Turn our new house into a home we love to be in.
7. Finishing my personal training certification ... And yes I started it right before I got pregnant and didn't tell people about it! So surprise!!
8. Get back into my healthy pre pregnant lifestyle and run that 5k!

9... Enjoy my life!! I feel so blessed to have such an amazing husband and 1 already adorable little lady who everyday shows me how lucky I am to be her mother, and enjoy all the firsts ahead with the new little one :)

What are your goals?!

Another Christmas has come and gone...

Can you believe it's already December 27th? If I didn't have my day planner infront of me I sure wouldn't believe it.
This year has gone by so fast.. Our family has so much excitement in 2013. We found out we are expecting again, we sold our house, bought a new house, Madison started school, I started a new job and Chris started playing hockey for 2 different teams. We are ending this awesome year by starting a new incredible life changing year!
We are used to being a family of 3 so come march when we are a family of 4 it will take some adjusting.
I'm not going to lie I am a little nervous about about being a mother to 2 .. Especially since one of those little sweet hearts is currently going through her terrible twos, but the past week has made me realize how lucky I am .. Even when Madison is kicking and fighting because she wants to wear her princess shoes and dress outside in the little snow we have.

Anyways thing have calmed down here for the time being so I figured it was time to share with you our amazing Christmas memories. For Christmas Eve Madison, my mother in law and father in law and I headed to New Jersey to spend the evening with our future sister in laws family. We had a great time. Madison was so excited when we got home about Santa coming that she didn't fall asleep until 11!!! Lucky me she did sleep until 7 so holding her off until 830 when Chris came home wasn't hard. She was very patient!
After we opened our gifts we headed over to Chris parents house for breakfast with the family. Madison was so helpful she was passing out gifts and very thankful for everything she got! Later in the day we headed back over to their house for more gifts and dinner. I got the best gift of all... My parents and one brother surprised me by coming a day early!!! Madison got the most amazing gift.. Hockey helmet and skates!!!! (Thanks uncle Ryan)
The day after Christmas we tested out our new crate and barrel waffle dipper pan, the chef did an amazing job.
After breakfast we headed out for a little shopping and lunch. Madison was so tired she fell asleep in the stroller (something she rarely does).
We headed home and rested for abit and then headed up to the new house to show my parents ans Brett! They loved it!! It's making us more excited to move in!  We got some amazing news that the bank gave us clearance to close!! So as soon as the survey is done it's moving time!! 2 weeks is what they are saying!  Wooooo!

Later that evening we headed back to Chris' parents for one more Christmas dinner. Madison had a great time playing with her cousins Bella, Jake and Ryan!

Today is a much calmer day..we had breakfast at my in laws and the girls played for hours!  They danced, ran around and beat up big cousins Jake!
This was definately a Christmas to remember! The memories we made will last a lifetime, Madison is growing up to be such a good little lady and is going to be an amazing big sister.

I hope you all had an amazing weeks with your loved ones. The next few weeks are going to be filled with picking up our paint and backsplash tiles and Madison's new closet system ... So I am going  to enjoy a few peaceful days before the craziness starts all over again!!
